You will also seldom see a protestant quoted approvingly on this site, but I make an exception for Clive Staples Lewis. His good friend, J.R.R. Tolkien went to his grave regretting that he could not bring Lewis " all the way home" to the Divine and Catholic Faith, but keeping in mind his heresy, Lewis was one of the greatest Christian thinkers of the XXth Century. Gilbert Meilaender, Duesenberg Professor of Christian Ethics at Valparaiso University gave a lecture on 12.09.2005 at Hillsdale College's Center for Constructive Alternatives seminar on the topic, “C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and the Inklings.” The lecture, adapted, is published at Hillsdale's "Imprimis":
