There is no Feast in the Traditional Roman Calendar for this day, but since it is Saturday, the Votive of Our Lady on Saturday is appropriate, and the Saturday Office of Our Lady is recited.
The Mediæval Saint of the Day is St Thomas Bellacci.

On this day:
AD 1787, Mozart's opera Don Giovanni opens in Prague. Mozart was undoubtedly a brilliant composer, but he was a freemason and an anti-Catholic.
AD 1901, Leon Czolgosz is electrocuted for the assassination of President McKinley. Czolgosz, an anarchist, shot McKinley on September 6 during a public reception at the Temple of Music in Buffalo, N.Y. Despite early hopes of recovery, McKinley died September 14, in Buffalo. Oh, for the days of swift justice! Notice the dates. Czolgosz was executed six weeks after the President died!!
AD 1952, French forces launch Operation Lorraine against Viet Minh supply bases in Indochina, in defence of the West against the culture of death, in this case the communist Viet Minh, later the Viet Cong.
AD 1972, Palestinian guerrillas kill an airport employee and hijack a plane, carrying 27 passengers, to Cuba. They force West Germany to release 3 terrorists who were involved in the Munich Massacre. The modern jihad begins to pick up steam!
AD 1975, Gral. Francisco Franco, Caudillo of Spain by the Grace of God, turned over the office of Head of State to Infante Juan-Carlos, his designated heir. Franco had defended Spain and the West for 36 years. Juan-Carlos, within months, had violated his solemn oath and set Spain on the path to destruction.
AD 2004, European Union leaders signed the EU's first constitution. And, despite the calls of Catholics (and many protestants) the Constitution makes no reference to the Christian roots of European Civilisation!
