Rev. Pere Jacques-Paul Migne
I have, of course, known Mignes's name for years. He is the Migne of the Patrologiæ cursus completus commonly known by its constituent titles, the Patrologiæ Latinæ and the Patrologiæ Graecæ. What I did not know, however, was that Migne was the founder of l'Univers, which became Louis Veuillot's (see previous post) organ after a few years.
Like Veuillot, he could be considered a blogger of his time because he «(became) convinced of the power of the press and the sheer value of raw information widely distributed!». Again, two encyclopædia articles:
