His Eminence George, Cardinal Pell steps up war of words on Islam

His Eminence continues to show that he is one of the greatest members of the College, at least on this point!

    I disagree that Vatican II is at fault here. There were already signs that the Church was under strain in the 40s-50s. We just didn't see it due to first the war and then the prosperity after the war. What has deeply offended me is the vry bad faith application of the council's decision aggravated by Paul VI's loss of nerve to crack down. Benedict is cracking down and we'll flowering. Remember the mustard seeds

    With respect to Cardinal Pell. Absolutely. I bet that he articulates what Benedict also says in private. Moreover, Moslems will become progressive disorineted whenever Christians vigourously denfend the faith and expose Islam's heresy and refute its false prophet.

    Mon ami, I certainly hope you're right. It's true there were tensions in the Church pre-VII, but it was the bomb that exploded.
