Mary, Queen of Scots Crowned
On this day in 1543 the last Catholic Ruler of Scotland was crowned. Dethroned by the protestants and foully murdered by her cousin, the usurper Elizabeth of England (Mary was the legitimate Queen after the death of the Catholic Queen Mary I), she was truly a tragic figure. Let us pray for her soul and the conversion of her Kingdom! St Andrew, pray for Scotland!
Articles on her from The Catholic Encyclopædia, Wikipedia and The Scotsman.
