Abortionist Morgentaler Appointed to the Order of Canada
If you are not already aware of it, Henry Morgentaler, the man responsible for ending all laws regulating abortion in Canada, has been honoured with appointment to the Order of Canada, the nation's highest civilian award.
While Canadians are deeply divided over the abortion question, polls taken when his appointment was announced indicate that 92% of Canadians oppose his being honoured in this way. One priest member of the Order has already resigned and returned his Decoration in protest.
While the appointment has been made, it can be withdrawn! Many of our Bishops are calling on Catholics to contact Her Excellency, the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada and The Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada to protest this appointment.
If any Canadians happen to read this, Her Excellency can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org (please cc: email@example.com on emails to Her Excellency) and Mr Harper can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org .
For Canadians and non-Canadians there are also petitions online, one in each of the official languages of the Dominion and one designed for non-Canadians to express their opposition. Here are links:
