First a personal note and apology. I worked all night and then had computer problems. Whilst a friend was fixing my rig I fell asleep, so these postings are very late!
First of all there is no Saint's Day listed in the Traditional Universal Calendar for this date, but it is Saturday, so the Saturday Mass of Our Lady would have been appropriate this morning, and the Her Saturday Office is recited.
However, from Medieval Saints, an excellent Yahoo! Group run by Ted Hewitt, comes this Feast--Ss Nunilo and Alodia, Virgins and Martyrs in Spain.
Their biography, from Ted's Group:

On this Day:
AD 741, Charles Martel of Gaul dies at Quiezy. His mayoral power is divided between his two sons, Pepin III and Carloman. Charles «The Hammer» defeated the jihadists at Tours, saving the West from inundation by the Saracen hordes. He and his House were the only orthodox Catholic rulers in the West at the time. The rest were arian heretics.
AD 1859, Spain declares war on the Moors in Morocco, thus attempting to complete the Reconquista. If other Catholc Powers had assisted, we might have reconquered all of North Africa.
