Today is the XXIIrd Sunday after Pentecost.
The Collect from the Roman Breviary:
O Lord, we beseech thee, absolve thy people from their offences : that, through thy bountiful goodness, we may all be delivered from the bands of those sins, which by our frailty we have committed. Through.
Were it not, it would be the Feast of St Martin, PM (no, not that Martin! His Feast was yesterday!). Here is the Commemoration used before the reforms of Bl. John XXIII:
Ant: If any man shall come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
V. The righteous shall flourish like a palm-tree.
R. And shall spread abroad like a cedar in LÃbanus.
