Ven. Therese of St Augustine, OCD, V
It is also the feast of the Venerable Therese of St Augustine of the Discalced Reform. Born Madame Louise, the daughter of His Most Christian Majesty, Louis XV, King of France and Navarre, she entered Carmel in her early thirties and died at fifty in 1787, being spared, by God's grace, the horrors of the Revolution. Her last words, befitting a Princess of the Blood, were, ""Au paradis! Vite! Au grand galop!" ("To heaven! Quickly! At the gallop!") His Holiness, Blessed Pius IX declared her Venerable on 19 June 1873. Her life is celebrated on 23 December.
The article on her from Tradition in Action.
