And where is the Church, whilst over a hundred thousand Hindus become Buddhists? Oh that's right, I forgot, all religions are equally good paths to Heaven and we don't want to impose on anyone!

Just remember that the Church in India has been facing harsh persecution from the Hindu government for some time. Plus, it's difficult for an Easterner to make the transition from monism to monotheism, so a conversion to Buddhism would seem easier, from their perspective.
