The Feast of St Didacus
Today is the Feast of St Didacus, C. (kept yesterday, his Heavenly Birthday in the Order of Friars Minor in which he was a lay brother). Of interest is that he is also known by his Spanish name San Diego de Alcala and it is he for whom the City of San Diego, CA is named.
The Collect from the Roman Breviary:
Almighty and everlasting God, who of thy wondrous providence dost choose the weak things of the world to confound those things that are strong : mercifully grant to us thy humble servants ; that, by the devout prayers of thy blessed Confessor Didacus, we may be found worthy to be exalted to everlasting glory in heaven. Through.
