De Gaulle, Communist And Perjuror

I always refer to the traitor de Gaulle as a communist and a perjuror. I had assumed that readers of The New Crusade would be familiar with his perfidy, but I have received two comments asking for more information. I replied to the first by personal email, but since the second hasn't posted his email address, I'm going to post the reply I sent to my first questioner. Here it is:

DeGaulle swore allegiance to the French State upon becoming a member of the Officer Corps. Before he made his famous broadcast from London calling on Frenchmen to "resist", he had already deserted in the face of the enemy. The government of le Marechal Petain was the recognised government of France, voted into office by the overwhelming majority of the last Chamber of Deputies of the Third Republic. It was recognised by all the powers, including the US and the UK. Any military man who places himself outside the chain of command (even without desertion, a capital offense) is well on the way to being a traitor, but in this case, he had already perjured himself by refusing orders from his legitimate superiors (including le Marechal) after taking the military oath.

However, he went further. In that famous speech, he promised that Frenchman would never fire on Frenchman, yet the first action of the communist inspired "Free French" was to attack the legitimate French Government in Syria.

Having succeeded, with the help of the Allies and his communist supporters, in returning to France as the "liberator" he had le Marechal condemned to death (may I recommend France, The Tragic Years, by Sisley Huddleston for an overview of the Red Terror De Gaulle brought with his liberation?) and, though he commuted the sentence to life imprisonment, he still bears the guilt of bringing his commanding officer before a kangaroo court. It is made worse by the fact that "le grand Charles" had been a protege of le Marechal, who had defended him in controversy before the war.

And, as if his actions during and immediately after the war weren't bad enough (his communist supporters embedded themselves in the government so that even after '47 when they left the ministry, their influence was felt for years!), in '58 he came to power again precisely because of his promise that Algeria would remain French. Most Americans do not realise that Algeria was not a colony, it was an overseas department of France, represented in the Chamber and Senat. However, his first action upon becoming President of the Republic in '58, despite his promise, was to grant independence to Algeria!

As to his communist support, I would suggest that you look at the history of the '68 uprising. The reason that it failed to bring down the V Republic was that De Gaulle had the solid support of the communist unions. While the students rebelled, the organised mass of workers, under the orders of the party bosses, didn't.

More On De Gaulle

My second questioner referred to de Gaulle as «a royalist Catholic who tried to salvage France's honour after 1940.» His Catholicism is between him and his God, but his «Royalism» was open for all to see. It consisted of a sentimental attachment to the la Maison d'Orleans, a cadet branch of la Maison de France. The Head of this junior branch of the Royal House is a direct descendant in the male line of Phillipe II, le Régent, le duc d'Orleans. Wikipedia has this to say about him:

«Philippe was a professed atheist who boasted to read the satirical works of François Rabelais inside a Bible binding during mass, and liked to hold orgies even on religious high holidays.». He was also an unrepentant sodomite who only married for reasons of state.

His son, Louis, duc d'Orleans, rebelled by being a good man and a good Catholic, but his grandson, Louis-Phillipe, duc d'Orleans, began to revert to type, though in a less perverted manner, fathering at least two bastards.

His great grandson, Louis-Philippe-Joseph duc d'Orléans, is known to history as Philippe-Égalité. He was Grandmaster of the violently anti-Catholic Freemasonic Grand Lodge of France and an active supporter of the Revolution (in the hope of usurping the Throne, many think!). He voted for the murder of his cousin, His Most Christian Majesty, King Louis XVI and is thus often referred to as «the Regicide». Despite his devotion to its ideals, the Revolution turned upon him and he was guillotined in November, 1793, during the reign of terror, thus surviving his cousin, the King, by only ten months.

However, his dreams and those of his forebears back to his great grandfather came true in 1830 when the Revolution succeeded in overthrowing the last Legitimate King of France and Navarre, His Most Christian Majesty, King Charles X, and replacing him on the «Throne» with Phillipe-Égalité's son, Louis-Phillipe, as le roi des francaises (King of the French, rather than of France and Navarre, the title of the true Kings of France).

This is the House to which de Gaulle paid lip service. There is evidence that he did approach Henri, comte de Paris, during the war to discuss a possible «restoration», but it went no further. BTW, Wikipedia has his to say of the man de Gaulle may have wanted as «king of the French»:

«During his 'tenure' as pretender to the throne Henri dissipated his family's great wealth (their château at Amboise now belongs to a trust), selling off family jewels, paintings, furniture and properties to support himself and his mistress, Monique Friesz, formerly a nurse. Conflict over the diversion of the family wealth (formerly worth over £40 million) led to court conflicts between him and five of his children, some of whom he unilaterally disinherited.»

At no point did de Gaulle's «royalism» lead him to support or suggest in any way the Restoration of the House of France to the Throne of France and Navarre. Therefore, as I said earlier, his Catholicism is between him and his God, but his royalism was of a revolutionary, leftwing sort, supporting a House dedicated for 250 years to the destruction of the French Monarchy and the enthronement of the Revolution in the person of the head of the House!

Recognising A Stroke

This post is totally off topic for this blog, but if it helps in saving a single life (my mother's stroke was recognised in time, D.g., though she died five years after the stroke of old age. R+I+P) I don't care. Read it, learn it and pass it on.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE
During a BBQ a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm, Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ - had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke perhaps Ingrid would be with us today.It only takes a minute to read this-Recognizing a StrokeA neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed and getting to the patient within 3 hours which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps. Read and Learn!Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke..Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

1. *Ask the individual to SMILE.

2. *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

3. *Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e... It is sunny out today).

If he or she has trouble with any of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.After discovering that a group of non-medical volunteers could identify facial weakness, arm weakness and speech problems, researchers urged the general public to learn the three questions. They presented their conclusions at the American Stroke Association's annual meeting last February. ...A group of Roman Catholic pro-life activists in Massachusetts is calling for a boycott of the annual Christmas fundraising dinner put on by an organization known as a Catholic Charities. The pro-lifers are upset because the man being honored at the dinner is Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, a Catholic who openly supports abortion and homosexual marriage. Carol McKinley of the group "Faithful Voice" feels it is wrong for someone who mischaracterizes the Catholic faith to be honored by a Catholic organization. She notes that just one donor so far has committed to boycott the $500-per-plate dinner, and this same person has also pledged to withhold money from Catholic Charities because it has handled adoptions for homosexual couples. But McKinley says the pro-life activists plan to urge boycotts of Catholic Charities well beyond this December 9 dinner and hope to reduce donations to that group by at least $100,000 in the next six months.
